There’s lots to see and do in Washington Park today—eight beautiful houses, a historic church, an amazing garden/wildlife habitat. Take in the sights on a horse-drawn carriage ride through the neighborhood, and enjoy refreshments at two homes. In addition, you can learn about how a home-energy audit can help owners of old homes improve their home’s energy efficiency on a budget, and see the beautiful wreaths that neighbors have made to add a touch of beauty and whimsy to Washington Park’s streets.

Oh, and Mother Nature has cooperated, too—azaleas are at their peak, and roses are beginning to spread their perfume. Now if the sun would just show up!

The Washington Park neighborhood opens its doors with tours of historic homes and gardens, horse-drawn carriage rides, music, and refreshments on gracious front porches.

Ticket prices: $15 in advance, $20 day of event

Advance tickets available (cash & checks only) from Ollie’s Bakery, 300 S. Marshall St., and 1502 Fabrics, 936 Burke St.

Tickets available day of the tour at the Vintage Theater, 7 Vintage Ave.

All proceeds support activities that beautify and enhance the Washington Park neighborhood.
